A Comparison of Hotel Buffets in Seoul: La Seine vs. The Parkview

La Seine at Lotte Hotel, located in the bustling area of Sogong-dong, is one of the two pillars of hotel buffets in Seoul, alongside The Parkview at Shilla Hotel.
Both venues have long established their reputations, so expectations are understandably high.

✅ After visiting both places, here's a comparison of their atmospheres:
- The Parkview (exudes sophistication): The ambiance is elegant, with a meticulous presentation and high-quality dishes.
- La Seine (vibrant and youthful): It feels more lively and dynamic compared to The Parkview, with a grandeur that comes from its larger scale.
Both buffets are iconic representations of Seoul's hotel dining scene!
Upon entering Lotte Hotel, the lobby has a somewhat vintage feel but is clean and comfortable. While waiting for dinner, I enjoyed exploring the hotel's history, which was quite interesting.
As expected, the entrance to La Seine features an impressive display of hotel cakes.
The round tables at The Parkview facilitate easy conversation, while La Seine has rectangular tables, which was a slight downside.
Both venues offer complimentary sparkling water, with La Seine also providing a glass of house wine or beer as part of its free event.
La Seine excels in desserts, offering a wide variety with excellent quality. They are not overly sweet or overwhelming, allowing me to indulge in two plates!
I preferred La Seine's desserts over those at The Parkview.
The lamb chops were decent, and the lobster and crab were prepped for easy eating, making them irresistible.
There is a great variety of dishes, making it easy to fill up quickly.
The sushi and sashimi were fresh, and the Western course was appealing as well.
The spicy noodle station was a nice touch!
I kept going back for more lobster and crab, and I also indulged in the various meats available.
La Seine is located at 30 Euljiro, Jung-gu, Seoul, and is open daily from 7:00 AM to 9:30 PM.
Reservations can be made online for discounts, with weekday breakfast/lunch/dinner about 10% off and weekend/holiday lunch/dinner about 5% off.
For Trevi Club members, discounts range from 20% for 1-9 people to 10% for groups of 16 or more.
✅ Overall Impression:
While the atmosphere may not be extremely luxurious, the vibrant energy is appealing.
If you're looking to try a variety of dishes, La Seine is unmatched!
The seafood and desserts definitely take the top spots!
If I was captivated by the steak at The Parkview, at La Seine, it’s all about the seafood and desserts!
I’m feeling quite full... time to digest at a nearby bowling alley.
La Seine offers a casual atmosphere with delightful desserts, while The Parkview exudes elegance.
Both have their unique charms!
I would choose La Seine for its casual vibe and desserts, but for gatherings with older guests, The Parkview is the way to go!
