Unexpected Temple Stay with My Pups!
21-162 Baekdun-ro, Buk-myeon, Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea

A spontaneous temple stay!
I got picked up from Gapyeong and walked around (of course, with my three dogs).
I rode the ITX train and was curious about the double-decker seats, but I ended up booking a seat on the first floor ㅋㅋㅋ So, I just looked at them ㅋㅋㅋ
You can also get there by subway... Gapyeong is close now (????)
But Welcome (one of my dogs) said he never wants to come again (he's a homebody) ㅋㅋㅋ
We went to Daewonsa Temple in Gapyeong!
They gave us clothes to wear during our stay ㅋㅋㅋ
It was humiliating that my size was the same as Keng's (another of my dogs)!
The accommodations were really clean, and the bedding was spotless!
They told us to use as many as we needed, so we neatly put aside one of the five sets.
It was a bit of a climb getting up there, but it was nice being in the mountains... The problem was, it rained a lot the entire time!
Gapyeong was hit hard by the heavy rain this summer ㅠㅠ
It would have been even more amazing if it hadn't rained!
There's a nice cafe there too! If you wear the temple stay clothes, you get a 30% discount (it seems to be only for drinks... We bought cookies, snacks, and chocolate, so there was no discount ㅋㅋ). The prices are around ₩6,000 for an Americano ㅋㅋ
I was curious about the temple food, and it was so delicious!
Dinner is at 5 PM... Could I lose weight if I only ate like this (?) ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Luckily, my dogs ate well, probably because they're used to grandma's side dishes ㅋㅋ Thank you (another of my dogs) said he loved the bracken, and Welcome ate the bean sprout soup, tofu, and burdock ㅋㅋㅋ
There's no fish or meat...
Thank you said he doesn't think he can live in a temple ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
(The next day, we had spicy stir-fried chicken for lunch, chicken for dinner, and origami samgyetang ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ In the afternoon, we went to Kim Yu-jeong Station and saw tons of chickens in the Camellia book, so it was a chicken party)
Still, it was so delicious that I set an alarm for 6:30 AM to make sure I ate breakfast... But I set it for weekdays only, so I didn't wake up until 7 AM... Damn it......... Forced fasting!
After dinner, there was tea time with a monk, but I stayed at the accommodations with the dogs and did crafts, while Keng went!
Wow.............
I’m sad that it rained, but there were beautiful things because of the rain(?)
The dogs even got to ring the bell!

Even though I'm not Buddhist,
I really like the fact that you can have time to quietly reflect on yourself and the atmosphere that temples have...
I wonder if Christians could create a program like this at retreat centers... With an evening service and a bonfire for a time of confession (?) ㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ And give a little meat for dinner.... Fasting for breakfast (?), and rice cakes and fish for lunch ㅋㅋㅋ

Anyway, end of recording my strange experience!!!!!!!!!!
