As a representative temple of the Cheontae Order, Samgwangsa is built upon the historical significance and traditions of the Cheontaegyogwan, which have been transmitted through generations. Samgwangsa Congregation consists of 17 branches and over 20 affiliated organizations, including Geumgang Buddhism University and Samgwang Hangeul School, which is recognized as an official educational institution for elementary and secondary education. Other affiliated groups include Samgwang Dado University and the Busan branch of the Cheontae Welfare Foundation.
