National Museum of Korea

A space of inspiration where history and culture breathe, and where the past, present, and future coexist: the National Museum of Korea.
The National Museum of Korea is seriously trending these days!
It's one of the largest museums in Korea, attracting the sixth-highest number of visitors worldwide!
I learned about the museum's popularity after seeing the product planning team leader on the TV show "You Quiz on the Block."
Since I was in Seoul, I wanted to experience the hype firsthand, so I rushed to the National Museum of Korea.
After seeing the merchandise in person, I understood why they're so popular.
Come and browse the various goods at the National Museum of Korea.

The lines to pay at the merchandise shop are incredibly long...
After browsing the merchandise shop, it's time to start exploring the exhibits!
From the prehistoric era to the Joseon Dynasty,
it takes quite a while to look around just the first floor.

There are many places to sit and rest in between.
Even just the resting areas have such a great view.
The Room of Quiet Contemplation
The most famous room in the National Museum of Korea is the Room of Quiet Contemplation!
Two National Treasure Pensive Bodhisattva statues (formerly No. 78 and No. 83)
are exhibited in the independent exhibition hall on the second floor.
Even though there are only two statues in a large space,
the overwhelming feeling fills the space!
The stillness, emotions, and thoughts as if everything has stopped.
I felt healed just by looking at them.
I felt so, so comfortable.
It's satisfying enough just to see the Room of Quiet Contemplation properly.
Since you may run out of time if you go through the first floor first,
it might be a good idea to go to the Room of Quiet Contemplation on the second floor first.
