From Impressionism to Early Modernism VIEW POINT
First Viewing Point: Metropolitan Museum's Renowned Impressionist Collection on Display
The exhibition is primarily composed of Impressionist works from the Robert Lehman Collection.
In the first section, focus on the major trends in art history and Western art history.
Second Viewing Point: An Opportunity to Meet Collector Robert Lehman
Robert Lehman donated approximately 2,600 works to the Metropolitan Museum during his lifetime.
Today, Lehman's personal collection is regarded as a model case of transformation into public assets.
Lehman's passion for art and sharing values are spread all over the world.
Third Viewing Point: Impressionism to Early Modernism Through Five Themes
In the late 19th century, painters broke away from traditional styles and captured life and landscapes with new techniques.
The third section focuses on five themes that attracted painters' attention: the body, portraits and individuality, nature, the city, the countryside, and water.
Focus on how landscape paintings and portraits have changed. It is good to appreciate the trend of the times, but it is also good to appreciate the theme keywords.
Fourth Viewing Point: From Inside the House to Outside, Expanding Spatial Presentation
If the first and second sections deal with landscape paintings,
Sections 3-5 show the gradual expansion of the landscape from the city to the suburbs and countryside, from the coast to the river.
You can also feel the atmosphere of the Lehman family mansion.
Fifth Viewing Point: Space of Senses, Video Presentation of Nature
Impressionist painters observed landscapes outdoors and explored the changes caused by light and atmosphere.
The video embodies the feelings felt by the painters,
It would be good to appreciate the work by focusing on the diverse changes created by light and water and emphasizing the exploration of nature.
