Discovering the Charms of Gimhae: Four Autumn Outing Spots

Hello from Gimhae Tourism!
These days, a cool breeze is blowing, and you can truly feel the autumn season.
Before winter arrives, we should fully enjoy autumn!
Speaking of autumn, here are four great spots for walks, sunset views, and admiring the fall foliage in Gimhae.
Shall we explore them together?
Gimhae Bunsanseong Fortress
Bunsanseong Fortress is a mountain fortress built with stones at the summit of Bunsan Mountain.
A path is well-maintained along the fortress walls, making it a popular spot for dates and walks.
Bunsanseong Fortress's 'Sunset of the Queen' is one of the most famous autumn attractions!
The sunset is named 'Sunset of the Queen' because it is said that Heo Hwang-ok, when she set out on a long sea journey to meet King Suro, could not forget the evening glow that comforted her amidst the rough waves. It embodies Heo Hwang-ok's challenge and love.
Bunsanseong Fortress is especially beautiful at sunset, so while it's great to visit during the day, it's even better to go around sunset.
If you climb the fortress walls and look down, you can see Gimhae city, the Gimhae plains, and the Nakdong River at a glance.
You can enjoy the beautiful scenery where the red sunset and the fortress's grandeur harmoniously blend.
Gimhae Royal Tomb of King Suro
This is the tomb of King Suro, the founder of the Geumgwan Gaya kingdom, and a symbolic cultural heritage of Gimhae.
The surrounding area of approximately 18,000 pyeong (about 59,500 square meters) is a royal tomb park.
I introduced this place as a trumpet creeper (Campsis grandiflora) spot before!
At the Royal Tomb of King Suro, you can feel the intensity of trumpet creepers in the summer, and in the fall, the maple and ginkgo trees turn color, allowing you to enjoy the unique atmosphere.
It's perfect for a light walk while enjoying the rustling sound of fallen leaves.
The autumn-tinted nature harmonizes with the tiled walls and the roofs of traditional Korean houses!
Taking in the nature and strolling through the serene royal tomb is healing itself, bringing peace to your mind.
Nearby are the Daeseongdong Tombs, the Royal Tomb of Queen Heo Hwang-ok, and the National Gimhae Museum, making it great for a Gaya history tour.
Hwapocheon Wetland
Hwapocheon Wetland is the largest river-type wetland in Korea.
It is home to endangered wildlife and plants and animals, and it is also a migratory bird site where 10,000 to 20,000 migratory birds visit annually.
In the fall, it's a fun place to see the harmony of the beautiful sunset and the scenery of silver grass.
There are four exploration courses, so you can choose the course you want and take a light walk!
Nearby, an ecological learning center is operated to preserve the natural ecosystem, offering various ecological education and experience programs.
I recommend visiting Hwapocheon Wetland with children because you can naturally learn about ecology while taking a walk and experience ecology through the ecological learning center.
Clayarch Gimhae Museum
For those who feel that just taking a walk is not enough, the Clayarch Gimhae Museum is perfect.
You can not only enjoy various exhibitions and programs inside the museum but also relax while admiring the beautiful natural scenery on the museum's outdoor walking trail.
I recommend it to those who want to see exhibitions and take walks!
Three exhibitions are currently underway at the Clayarch Gimhae Museum!
Each exhibition hall has a different charm, so enjoy the exhibition that suits your taste and have a time of cultural enrichment.
