Gimhae boasts numerous attractions, each with its own unique character and charm. We hope many of you will experience Gimhae's diverse appeal firsthand. We're excited to recommend tourist destinations in various regions of Gimhae!

Today, we'll introduce the Daedong, Sangdong, and Buram areas, where you can enjoy a leisurely trip along the Nakdong River.

Are you ready for a relaxing journey along the river? Let's begin our first tour recommendation by region in Gimhae!

Sangdong

Yongdang Naru Plum Blossom Park

Yongdang Naru Plum Blossom Park, located along the Nakdong River, is famous for its beautiful plum blossom groves. Recently, it has gained even more popularity as the opening location for the Gimhae episode of '[I am Solo, Season 25]'.

In 2022, over 50-year-old native plum trees that had been growing naturally along the Nakdong River were transplanted here, and now you can see about 600 plum trees.

Although the plum blossom season is over, don't worry! Yongdang Naru Plum Blossom Park offers a variety of flowers and trees to enjoy even outside of the plum blossom season.

You can also sit on benches placed throughout the park and enjoy the view of the Nakdong River, or have a picnic with snacks on a mat.

Above all, there are many photo spots with the natural scenery of the Nakdong River as a backdrop, making it a great place to capture beautiful memories.

Sangdong

Jangcheok Valley

Jangcheok Valley, along with Jangyu Daecheong Valley, is one of the two major natural valleys representing Gimhae. It is a naturally formed resort area along the stream flowing from the Sinheo Mountain range.

Known only to those in the know, it's a famous spot for summer valley water play. Floating along the stream on a tube or simply dipping your feet in the cool valley water under the shade of the forest will make you forget the summer heat.

Sitting on a platform and listening to the flowing water, you'll feel like you're in paradise.

If you've enjoyed playing in the water, satisfying your hunger is a must!

Although cooking and camping are prohibited, there are nearby shops and restaurants selling chicken baeksuk (ginseng chicken soup) or duck bulgogi (spicy grilled duck), and you can also eat food you bring or order delivery.

There are public restrooms and parking lots, making it easy to visit. Escape the heat and relax at Jangcheok Valley this summer!

Sangdong

Sinheosan Natural Forest Camping Ground

Surrounded by Sinheo Mountain, Dobong Mountain, and Jangcheok Mountain, Sinheosan Natural Forest Camping Ground allows you to enjoy a 'forest vacation' close to nature.

You can observe various wildflowers blooming and falling each season, fully experiencing the scenery that nature offers. With the fresh air of the mountain and the sound of birds as company, you can feel your mind calming down just by sitting still.

The camping ground is divided into 들 (field), 꽃 (flower), and 산 (mountain) zones, so you can choose a spot with the view and atmosphere you want.

From emotional camping with your own equipment to cooking your own meals, it's the perfect place to escape the city and spend your own healing time in nature.

In addition, various woodworking and experience programs are also offered, making it a great family camping spot.

Learn about and enjoy nature at Sinheosan Natural Forest Camping Ground, and take time to relax your body and mind.

Daedong

Daedong Ecological Sports Park

Daedong Ecological Sports Park, located along the Nakdong River, is a park where you can fully experience various flowers and nature throughout the four seasons. It's a great place for walking or cycling while enjoying the cool breeze blowing along the Nakdong River.

The Shasta daisies in spring and the endless cosmos fields in autumn are especially famous. Just standing among the flowers is enough to capture an emotional photo. The feeling of becoming one with nature is a bonus.

The park, which covers an area of about 25,000 pyeong (approximately 20 acres), hosts the Gimhae Flower Festival every year, as well as various cultural events and small-scale performances, providing attractions and entertainment for both travelers and locals.

With various sports facilities such as a soccer field, baseball field, and park golf course, as well as a lawn plaza and playground, it is a space where people of all ages can enjoy themselves.

Daedong

Gimhae Sanhaejeong (Sinsan Seowon)

This is a historical site where Nammyung Jo Sik, a Confucian scholar of the Joseon Dynasty, taught his disciples and studied. It is Gimhae's only royal charter seowon (private Confucian academy), designated as Gyeongsangnam-do Cultural Heritage Material No. 125.

A royal charter seowon refers to a seowon that was granted the name (signboard) by the king and supported by the state with land, books, and servants.

The 'Sanhae' in Sanhaejeong means 'climbing a high mountain and looking at the sea,' and it contains the meaning that when you cultivate your knowledge and your level rises, your thoughts and mind will become as broad as the sea.

This history and philosophy, combined with the beauty of Sanhaejeong's traditional Korean architecture and peaceful nature, create a special space.

Take a stroll along the stone wall or sit on the wooden floor and spend time in deep contemplation, feeling the spirit of Nammyung Jo Sik.

Sanhaejeong is famous for the beautiful harmony of red crape myrtle trees and traditional Korean houses. It is said that crape myrtle trees, with their smooth, barkless trunks, were often planted in seowons because they symbolize integrity and purity.

You can see the crape myrtle trees in full bloom between July and September, and once you know that they are a symbol of scholars, you will be able to see them in a different light!

Buram

Gangbyeon (Riverside) Eel Town

Gangbyeon Eel Town, located in the Buram-dong area, is a food street where you can taste 'Buram Eel,' one of Gimhae's specialties and one of the nine tastes of Gimhae.

The biggest attraction is that there are eel restaurants gathered together, so you can taste eel dishes cooked in different ways at each restaurant.

As a specialized food street, there are also cafes nearby, making it the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee while admiring the Nakdong River view after your meal.

Another attractive point is the Seonakdong River Trail, which is a short promenade with an open view of the riverside, making it a great healing course for a light walk.

Especially when pampas grass blooms in full bloom between September and October, the pampas grass, which grows taller than people, forms a colony, making it a popular photo spot, so don't forget to bring your camera!

Gimhae's attractions along the Nakdong River.

If you need a small break from your daily life, spend a relaxing time in the Daedong, Sangdong, and Buram areas of Gimhae, creating your own special memories.

Walking along the open riverside, feeling nature, and enjoying delicious food will lighten your body and mind!

We will be back next time with the second tour recommendation by region in Gimhae, so please wait a little longer!
