A Memorable Visit to Common Mention in Gyeongbokgung

Last August, I visited Common Mention, which I had been curious about after seeing a sandwich photo posted by an influencer.
After posting that photo on my blog, a friend commented to let me know it was called Common Mention! I had wanted to visit this place for so long, yet it took me five months to finally write about it.
Common Mention is about a 10-minute walk from Exit 7 of Gyeongbokgung Station.
From afar, it looked so beautiful that I couldn't help but tell my brother how pretty it was.
It was mid-August, so it was bright even in the evening, and quite hot.
I thought it would be lovely to sit on the terrace and enjoy a meal during the pleasant autumn weather, but it’s already January 2026...????
The space inside is quite spacious.
It’s spacious.
Though it’s usually a place with a wait, perhaps because it was a weekday evening, there weren't many customers, and thankfully, there was no wait. I was lucky!
Here’s the menu.
Beer and Wine
Food
The table setting was neat.
White dishes go well with everything.
Since it was a special day (600 days), we ordered beer.
We had Big Wave and Peroni (which I found out is an Italian beer), each for 8,000 won.
My brother even remembered to bring flowers for our 600-day anniversary.
We tried the Baby Potato Caesar Salad for 16,000 won.
It was quite generous in portion and tasted really good.
The baby potatoes and Caesar dressing paired surprisingly well, and the Caesar sauce was fantastic.
Then came the sandwiches!
I was completely taken by the sandwich on the left in the photo I had seen, which made me eager to find out where Common Mention was.
We had the Carrot Rape Burrata Sandwich for 16,500 won and the Fried Fish Sandwich for 17,000 won.
Don’t they look delicious?
While I thought the prices were a bit high for sandwiches, the presentation was great, and the taste matched the visuals. Most importantly, they looked hearty but felt light, leaving me with a healthy feeling after finishing them. They were right up my alley!
As we left, it had grown quite dark, adding to the atmosphere of Common Mention.
These days, with the cold weather, I often reminisce about those warm summer nights.
Writing this makes me want to visit Common Mention again!
