A Family Visit to Hwanggeumjeong: A Delightful Korean Dining Experience

Recently, I visited Hwanggeumjeong, a Korean restaurant located in Seochon next to Gyeongbokgung Palace, with my family.
On January 1st, we wanted to have a quiet family meal to welcome the New Year, so we decided to visit during the relatively calm morning hours.
It was a pleasant surprise to find that the restaurant was open even on New Year's Day.
This place offers a neat selection of Korean dishes, perfect for enjoying in the unique atmosphere of Seochon.
Operating hours: Daily from 11:00 AM to 9:30 PM.
Parking: Approximately 3-4 cars can park in front of the restaurant.
During my previous visit, I remembered the delicious stir-fried pork, which is why I returned!
Parking was convenient for family outings or visits with elderly guests.
This time, we visited during a quieter time, but I noticed that on weekday evenings, it has a lively atmosphere where office workers enjoy grilled meat and drinks after work.
I felt that the restaurant has two distinct charms: a peaceful lunch and a vibrant dinner.
As expected, the well-arranged side dishes typical of a Korean restaurant in Seochon were impressive!
In particular, the radish kimchi was so delicious that I even requested a refill.
The side dishes had a home-cooked feel, not overly spicy, making them easy to enjoy!
Food Review:
✔️ Duck Meat: Overall, the taste was mild and straightforward, making it enjoyable for everyone.
✔️ Green Onion Pancake: Generously filled with ingredients, it was visually satisfying.
The generous size was perfect for sharing with family, and it had just the right amount of oil, making it delicious.
✔️ Grilled Mackerel: The fish was large and plump, and the quality felt excellent.
It was not fishy and was very light, making it particularly popular among the older guests.
Conclusion:
✔️ Recommended as a dining spot before or after visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace and Seochon.
✔️ A neat Korean restaurant suitable for family dining or taking parents out.
✔️ A diverse menu including lunch specials offers a wide selection.
