2026 Seoul International Buddhist Expo Review

Yes, the Buddha is still quite popular!
This is my review of the 2026 Seoul Buddhist Expo.
I visited the Buddhist expos in Seoul and Daegu last year.
Below are the details of my experience.
The 2026 Seoul Buddhist Expo was much better prepared than last year.
Of course, there were also significantly more visitors.
Let's get started with the review!
This time, I attended the expo with my longtime friend, Monk Hyomin.
Monk Hyomin treated me to a delicious Isaac Toast and a refreshing drink.
We took the train to COEX.
We visited on Thursday morning, the opening day of the expo.
After pre-registering, we lined up to receive our wristbands and coins.
Upon entering, we received a pamphlet and a piece of chocolate, which is a thoughtful gift since it helps with energy dips.
Here are some photos from the event:
Out with the delusions!
I also successfully reserved a spot for the 'Double Happiness Temple Stay' event here.
Right, just keep going...
Here’s a badge that Kuyang bought for me.
We also found vegetarian kimbap being sold inside the expo!
It was just right in terms of flavor and absolutely delicious.
The line was incredibly long!
This year, there were various events outside of COEX as well.
Using the coins we received at the entrance, we participated in a lottery and placed our wishes into a goal.
This year's wish is for the health of my body, mind, and cat.
My friend Sae won a special lottery and received a gift package!
(May luck always be with you!)
After walking around the expo a couple of times, we felt drained and decided to visit Bongeunsa Temple next door.
The weather was beautiful, making it perfect for photos.
We were able to collect two more coins at Bongeunsa.
Due to energy depletion, we only took a quick look around.
While there were no seats available inside COEX, the café at Bongeunsa was quite spacious, and we enjoyed some delicious beverages.
Unboxing the Buddhist Expo:
There were so many gifts and prizes!
We could also purchase prayer beads and Buddhist merchandise at the shop inside Bongeunsa.
Kuyang couldn’t resist and bought some items, while Sae treated me to a prayer book.
It was such a joy to attend the Seoul International Buddhist Expo with friends for the second year in a row.
I recommend visiting on a weekday to avoid crowds, but for those looking to buy merchandise, Daegu might be a better option.
In Daegu, I had a leisurely time browsing T-shirts and goodies, while in Seoul, the lines were incredibly long.
However, I thoroughly enjoyed the bustling atmosphere unique to Seoul.
Buddhism is still very much in vogue!
I hope everyone's wishes come true.
The end.
