The [Like Minds Gather] Visual Arts Team presents the 'WHAT A COLOR!' exhibition.

'WHAT A COLOR!' is an exclamation expressing the beauty of color and a phrase that captures the vivid and clear moments of emotion.

The 'Yes, This Color!' team is a visual arts collective formed through the youth support program at YuYu Base Bupyeong (@inuu_bp). Artists from diverse genres came together, playfully interpreting the color of boundaries, 'It's gray,' into their team name.

Since last April, when warm spring arrived, we have been working together to understand each other's perspectives and languages, participating in local flea markets, engaging in various collaborative projects, and connecting as artists. Based on these experiences and outcomes, we planned this group exhibition in chilly October, focusing on the theme of diverse 'emotions.'

Since last May, we have each spontaneously drawn one card from a set of 96 emotion cards ('Color Your Emotion,' created by Studio Ing @studio.iiing), focusing on the five selected emotions ('resentful-interested-fun-lonely-amazing') to create individual and collaborative works. Through these works, which express a common theme in various ways, we aimed to showcase the subtle nuances of emotions that are the same yet different.

This exhibition, completed with a mix of spontaneity and coincidence, resembles the team's free and flexible nature. Emotions are expressed through individual methods such as painting, photography, character design, and collage. These thematic works, along with the artists' unique creations developed in their own styles, are open-ended results that are completed only when viewers add their perspectives and emotions.

Emotion is a sensation that precedes language, spreading, overlapping, scattering, and meeting to become colors that flow. We hope that this exhibition will allow the various emotions we have collectively expressed over the past six months to meet your emotions, creating a moment of resonance in a spectrum of colors.
