The 1st Aloha & Ukulele Festival: A Celebration of Music and Friendship

Cheonan's Jeongdaum Band and Yeoju's Flora Ensemble met for the very first Aloha & Ukulele Festival!

This ukulele festival was our own little initiative.

Every year, we used to hold individual recitals at the end of the year.

But coordinating schedules for the year-end was difficult.

The weather was also cold, and we tended to shrink back.

So, we ended up skipping it year after year.

This time, with the enthusiasm of the Jeongdaum Band leader, we decided to make it happen to celebrate the start of the semester.

Thanks to the leader's great drive and the energy that flows from them, the process was simply enjoyable.

We provided items we had collected as participation gifts, including two brand new ukuleles that participants were very satisfied with!

Being good at singing is the best!

The Jeongdaum Band is known for their lively stages with people full of excitement and the harmony of various instruments.

The Flora Ukulele Ensemble generally has a lower energy and a shy style, preferring quiet instrumental pieces (I sang all the songs myself!).

But just ukulele performances can be a bit dull.

So, we added a touch of freshness with the Ocarina club, Chinttagumtta.

We all gathered together for a casual recital.

Being joyful and having fun is more important than being good.

We all became one through a performance of Nanacooli.

We wrapped up with a simple seminar, preparing for a Coffee Rumba for the next festival.

Even though we just gathered to play together, we had a fun and happy time.

I hope the Aloha & Ukulele Festival prospers with even better opportunities in the future!
