Let's explore the details!
The media art piece 'SEOULFUL WINTER' utilizes the Haechi character
Seoul City will showcase the media art piece 'SEOULFUL WINTER' featuring the Haechi character on the 222m irregular media facade of DDP from December 18 to 31.
'SEOULFUL WINTER' is a reinterpretation of Seoul's representative character, Haechi, in pattern art, reborn with a new design after 15 years, and marks Haechi's debut at Seoul Light.
Considering the curved surface characteristics of the DDP exterior, Haechi is presented as intuitive and highly visible pattern art. The piece is further enhanced by adding the friends of the Four Guardian Deities—Red Phoenix, Black Tortoise, White Tiger, and Blue Dragon—symbolizing protection, peace, and prosperity.
Moreover, the artwork maximizes excitement and energy with vibrant patterns and colors, concluding with the cheerful catchphrase “Don’t Worry, Be Haechi,” delivering a message of encouragement, positivity, and hope for the upcoming New Year.
In the production of the Haechi media art 'SEOULFUL WINTER,' the media art label Verseday participated. Verseday is recognized for its artistic and popular media art showcased at various landmarks, including DDP, and has received accolades at domestic and international design awards.
This year's 'SEOULFUL WINTER' at the 2025 DDP Seoul Light will be open for free viewing to all citizens visiting DDP every evening from December 18 to 31.
