Reading Performance — 'The Last Question' ⨉ 'Bartleby, the Scrivener'
Introduction to the Reading Performance — 'The Last Question' ⨉ 'Bartleby, the Scrivener'
The act of reading is a creative and dynamic process that deconstructs and reconstructs the layers of language and meaning within the framework of current thought and sensation. Through this, past thoughts and sensations are repeated and restructured in the context of present experiences. This contemplation of continuity prompts reflection on what artistic practice as a creative inheritance truly means.
In 'Bartleby, the Scrivener', resistance questions the political implications of individual freedom in a capitalist society, while 'The Last Question' poses existential inquiries about a world driven by technological advancement.
The reading performances by actors Go Young-min and Kim Ha-ri will take place every Thursday and Saturday during the exhibition period.
Go Young-min
He is a professor at the Department of Art and Entertainment at Suwon University and a member of the creative group LAS. Through notable works such as 'Function Domino' and 'The Walking Invader', he has created moments where the narrative of the work comes alive through the actor's body and voice.
Kim Ha-ri
She made her debut in the 2007 play 'Joseon Detective Hong Yun-sik' and has built a strong presence through her dense portrayal of character narratives and emotions in major works such as 'Why Am I Not Existing?' and 'The People of Jang Seok-jo's House'.
