As the pet ownership population increases,

Starting from March 1, 2026,
pet entry will be officially allowed in restaurants and bakeries in Gimpo City.
If you plan to operate a pet-friendly business,
you must undergo a pre-review by the Gimpo City Food Safety Department
before the system is implemented.

How to apply for the pre-review service:

New and existing operators wishing to allow pets
✔️ Application method:
Visit Gimpo City Hall Food Safety Department
Compliance requirements for operators:
✅ Essential checks!
✔️ Display a sign stating "Pet-Friendly Business" at the entrance.
✔️ Restrict entry if vaccinations are not up to date (confirm vaccination records).
✔️ Install barriers or fences to prevent pets from entering food handling areas.
✔️ Separate storage and usage for customer and pet supplies.
✔️ Use lids or covers to prevent contamination of food.
✔️ Limit pet movement within the establishment using designated chairs or restraints.
✔️ Maintain sufficient distance between tables (to prevent contact between customers and pets).
✔️ Provide a separate trash bin for pet waste.
✔️ Post safety guidelines and conduct safety management checks and staff training.
Starting March 1, 2026, even if the pre-review process is skipped, legal obligations for pet entry will take effect, and violations may lead to administrative penalties.
