National Children's Hangeul Grand King Competition 2025
A special tension filled the TJB Broadcasting Station Open Hall in Daejeon on September 23rd.
A total of 50 students gathered, including 48 qualifiers who had passed through fierce preliminary rounds from all over the country and 2 excellent prize winners from the previous year.
Their one and only goal was to become the '2025 National Children's Hangeul Grand King'!
The 'National Children's Hangeul Grand King Competition' marked its 3rd anniversary this year.
This year, a whopping 506 people applied to participate in the competition!
This is a 41.3% increase from 358 people last year.
Just reaching the finals means that they have already been recognized for their great skills.
The children showed off their Hangeul skills, which they had honed, by solving 25 difficult problems consisting of Korean vocabulary and grammar rules.
Spelling, spacing, and various expressions in Korean...
It is said that it was truly amazing to see them solve problems that even adults find confusing.

Grand Prize (Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Award): Gong Se-wan (Sodam Elementary School, Sejong)
First Prize (Mayor of Sejong Special Self-Governing City Award): Song Jeong-woo (Yeonyang Elementary School, Sejong), Kwak Ha-eun (Cheongok Elementary School, Pyeongtaek)
In addition, everyone, including 6 Excellence Award winners and 2 Encouragement Award winners, were shining Hangeul keepers!
