This time, we would like to introduce the 'Gasan-myeon Story Discovery Team' program, conducted by the Gasan-myeon Cultural City Project Promotion Team.
This program explores the areas of Hakhari, Songhakri, and Haksangri in Gasan-myeon!
Intergenerational Cultural Experience Blooming in Hakhari, Songhakri, and Haksangri
On October 26th (Sunday) at 13:00, the 'Gasan-myeon Story Discovery Team' program, organized by the Gasan-myeon Cultural City Project Promotion Team,
was successfully held in the areas of Hakhari, Songhakri, and Haksangri.
This event was a meaningful occasion where residents directly discovered and experienced the traditions, culture, and historical stories of Gasan-myeon,
adding new value to the fading memories of the villages.
About 30 elementary school students and their parents from Gasan-myeon participated in this program.
Children and parents formed teams and explored the villages following three themes: people, space, and legends,
searching for stories.
Hakhari – People's Stories: Interviews with village elders and beekeeping masters, observation of native honeybees
Songhakri – Space Stories: Visiting the birthplace of National Gugak Master Park Gwi-hee, finding murals and village shrines
Haksangri – Legend Stories: Listening to village legends directly at Yeonjiso, Mudeungam, Modeumteo, etc.
The children carried out missions for each team,
conducting interviews, taking pictures, and recording their experiences,
feeling 'the stories of our village' with their bodies.
Before the full-scale exploration, a group photo was taken at Gasan-myeon Haksu Godae Village!
Everyone started the day's event with anticipation.
The first journey of the event began in Hakhari.
The children met a local beekeeping master,
learned about the ecology of honeybees and traditional beekeeping methods,
and experienced the preciousness of nature by directly observing native beehives.
"It smells like real honey!"
"The bees are scary but fascinating."
It was a time when curiosity and learning sparkled in the eyes of the children.
After the beekeeping experience, they visited the home of a village elder
and had time to interview them about various stories about the village.
In Songhakri, the second location,
they visited the birthplace of National Gugak Master Park Gwi-hee and the village shrine
to reflect on the local cultural heritage and the meaning of the space.
Walking through the mural alley,
children and parents all said, "Our village had this kind of story,"
providing an opportunity to look at the village with a new perspective.
The last stop was Haksangri.
Listening to the legends passed down in various places in the village, such as Yeonjiso, Mudeungam, and Modeumteo,
children and parents together experienced the mysterious stories of the village.
After the program,
all participants gathered to write and present their impressions,
reflecting on the meaning of the village stories they learned that day.
Meanwhile, at the same time,
parents participated in tea blending and
Singing Bowl Meditation & Hak Yoga programs around Haksugodae Village in Haksangri.
It was a time to escape from busy daily life
and calm the mind with a cup of tea and meditation,
and there were positive comments such as, "It was nice to participate with the children, and it was a day to rest my mind."
'Gasan-myeon Story Discovery Team' is
a cultural education program that goes beyond simple experiences, directly discovering and conveying the stories of the village,
providing an opportunity to enhance the identity and pride of Gasan-myeon.
The Gasan-myeon Cultural City Project Promotion Team will continue to
create unique cultural programs unique to Gasan-myeon, in which residents can participate directly and generations can enjoy together.
The Gasan-myeon Cultural City Project Promotion Team has ended with the 4th session.
Through four programs this year, we discovered and utilized various resources in Gasan-myeon while engaging in various activities with local residents.
We hope that the various resources collected through this process will be gathered well
and that even richer and more fruitful programs will come out next year.
