A new aesthetic of Korean original musicals unfolds at the Seungdal Culture and Arts Center.
The emotional original musical ‘The Hairdresser’ will be staged at the Grand Performance Hall of the Seungdal Culture and Arts Center in Muan-gun on Thursday, November 20th at 7:20 PM.
Sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organized by the Korea Arts Management Service, and hosted by Muan-gun,
this performance is highly anticipated as an excellent production selected for the 2025 Performing Arts Region Distribution Project.
🎭 The Life of Oh Yeop-ju, Korea's First Hairdresser, on Stage
The musical ‘The Hairdresser’ is based on the life of Oh Yeop-ju, known as Korea's first hairdresser.
Set in Gyeongseong in the 1930s, during the enlightenment period,
it delicately portrays the artistic journey of a woman finding her path through ‘beauty.’
‘Beauty is the free expression of humanity.’
The combination of fashion, hair, music, and stage art centered around this sentence is a major attraction, making it a complex art musical!
Rather than simply recreating the era,
it deeply captures ‘the human desire to create beauty.’
