Connecting the City, Embracing People: A Visit to the 2025 Paju Architecture Culture Festival

Connecting the city and embracing its people.
????2025 Paju Architecture Culture Festival????
Hello, this is Paju Alimi!
I visited the 2025 Paju Architecture Culture Festival held at the Paju Geumchon Harmony Center.
The name might sound a bit intimidating, but it's an event where Paju citizens can come and listen to stories about our city's architecture and spaces.
Personally, I love urban spaces and architectural design, so I went with high expectations!
There were architect consultation corners, exhibition spaces, and citizen contest entries, but it felt more like a quiet exhibition than a 'festival'.
There were also lectures on the 23rd and 24th, but unfortunately, I couldn't participate due to my schedule.????
Thanks to the relaxed atmosphere,
I enjoyed being able to browse the exhibits at my own pace.
It was nice that it wasn't crowded, so it was easy to take pictures, and I could read the exhibition content at my leisure.
In particular, the sections introducing Paju's public buildings and citizen ideas were quite interesting.
Like the theme, "Connecting the City, Embracing People,"
I could see how the spaces around us are changing.
✔️A great place for those interested in architecture
Overall, it seemed like an event that architecture students or people in related industries could enjoy more than the average citizen.
If you're someone like me who is interested in design or space,
it was a good time to get ideas.
The exhibition itself was well-done,
and I could feel the intention to introduce Paju's architectural direction to the citizens!
✔️Exhibition filled with citizen ideas
Among the exhibits, the idea works proposed directly by citizens stood out.
The drawings of the future Paju, expressed by children, were also cute.
However, I was a little disappointed that the space wasn't very large overall,
and there weren't many works, so I could see everything quickly.????
✔️A quiet but meaningful event
It was a bit quiet because there weren't many people,
but it was a time to calmly think about 'city and architecture'.
It was also interesting to see the newly built Munsan Library and other public facilities from an architectural perspective!
In the end, the core of the Architecture Culture Festival
seemed to be the meaning of 'citizens creating our city's space together'.
It was quiet, but I liked that the message was clearly conveyed.
I liked that I could see this kind of event up close while living in Paju.
Personally, it's a field I'm interested in, so the exhibition-like atmosphere was suitable for reading through each item quietly and calmly.
It was nice to have a place to share thoughts on Paju's wonderful buildings.????
Also, it would be great to have more opportunities for evening or weekend events for workers,
such as the lectures that I unfortunately missed.
Next time, if there are more participatory programs or citizen booths,
I think it will be an Architecture Culture Festival that is truly lively like a 'festival'!
If this time it was a quiet exhibition,
I hope that next time it will develop into a festival where more citizens can come together.????
