Seosulla-gil in Jongno has rapidly become one of the trendiest streets in recent years. Even on this popular street, there's one place that always seems to be bustling with people: Seosulla-gil Hanok Cafe, which I'm excited to introduce to you today.
Even though I visited around 3-4 PM on a weekday, this cafe was so popular that there was almost a wait! Let's dive into the review.

📍 Location & Atmosphere
Walking along Jongno's Seosulla-gil in the afternoon sunlight, I found the street's unique atmosphere to be truly special, despite its narrow alleyways.
Strolling down Seosulla-gil, you can't help but notice the hanok (traditional Korean house) building with a particularly large crowd of people!
That's the Seosulla-gil Hanok Cafe! It's the hottest of the hot spots among Jongno 3-ga cafes and Seosulla-gil cafes. The weather was so nice that there were tons of people in front of the store. The signboards perfectly capture the traditional Korean feel.
Even from the back of the building, you can feel the charm of the hanok. The cafe building preserves the traditional hanok structure, making it beautiful to look at from the outside and inspiring you to take photos.
With its wooden pillars, tiled roof, and even the small windows and railings on the second floor, it exudes both traditional beauty and sophistication. It's a space that captures the 'Seoul vibe' and 'Korean elegance' simultaneously.
Inside, you can truly feel the warmth characteristic of hanok structures. Visiting during the afternoon hours when the autumn sunlight streams in, the warm wood tones and light coming through the windows create an even more atmospheric setting.
During this time of year, the benches in front of the cafe are extremely popular. Luckily, there were a few seats available inside. Even though I visited around 3-4 PM on a weekday, after the lunch rush, the outside was already full, and it took quite a bit of effort to find a seat!

Here's a look at the menu at Seosulla-gil Hanok Cafe in Jongno 3-ga! You can check the menu and place your order using the kiosk.
They also have a variety of sweet desserts available! The menu composition was similar to Hanok Rangsom Cafe in Ikseon-dong Hanok Street, which I visited recently, leading me to believe that they are operated by the same company!
The items our group ordered were:
Iced Americano - ₩5,500
Honey Yuzu Tea (hot) - ₩7,000
Oreo Tiramisu - ₩7,500
After settling down on the second floor, we received our order! The sunlight streaming through the window created a cozy atmosphere.
The honey yuzu tea was sweet and fragrant, and its presentation was fitting for the hanok setting!
The iced Americano was smooth and refreshing!
I found out that the cafe roasts their own beans!
The Oreo Tiramisu, topped generously with Oreo crumbles, was a delight to look at! The smooth mascarpone cheese and the sweetness of the Oreos went perfectly with the coffee.
While enjoying our drinks, we also sat by the window. The scenery outside the glass offered a view of Seosulla-gil's unique stone wall atmosphere. Even just sitting by the window, you can feel like you're on a 'trip to Seoul'.
At Seosulla-gil Hanok Cafe(서순라길 한옥카페) in Jongno 3-ga, I fully enjoyed the charm of a traditional Korean house and had another great day!

Seosulla-gil Hanok Cafe near Jongno 3-ga and Jongmyo is one of the best cafes in Jongno to experience the 'beauty of traditional Seoul'! Sitting on the terrace under the autumn sunlight, you'll naturally understand why people seek this place out.
The drinks and desserts are generally of satisfactory quality, and, more than anything, the charm of the space harmonizing with Seosulla-gil makes it well worth a visit!!
If you happen to visit Seosulla-gil in Jongno, this cafe is a must-visit! The competition for seats is fierce, so I recommend aiming for an early weekday time or an off-peak afternoon hour.
However, it's a place where the wait is definitely worth it.
