Can you believe that 13 days have already passed this year?

Back in elementary school, when I was forced to keep a diary, I got used to writing the new year after about 3-4 months. These days, it feels like the new year only becomes familiar when the year changes again. I've been stuck in a loop for two weeks, typing '2025 01...' and then erasing it to type '2026' again.

Fortunately, my blog is still set to the end of 2025.

In early December, after finishing a night shift, I went to Gangnam for LASIK surgery. As I mentioned before, I was stressed about my eyes while in Sydney, and I became scared to put my lenses back in. I managed to push through the hospital appointment to the actual surgery within about a week. I needed someone to accompany me, and luckily, a colleague was available to go with me. The surgery time was short, and perhaps due to the stress I had experienced, I felt more resigned than worried. In the end, there was no pain or issues. I wanted to do smile LASIK, but due to my severe myopia and astigmatism, I had no choice but to go with standard LASIK. After the surgery, I traveled from Seoul Station to Daejeon and then home by taxi and train, and my vision was foggy and dizzy. I was very grateful for my colleague's support. Oh, and the pork cutlet I had right before the surgery was delicious! Honestly, Japanese food? I think I can be satisfied with it even in Korea now.

Contrary to the advice I received that the second and third days after LASIK would be extremely painful, I was just a bit swollen on the second day. It was uncomfortable, but I didn't have excessive tearing or pain. On the third day, I even went to work. Initially, my vision was okay, and I wasn't in pain, but by the afternoon, my eyes were swollen, and I regretted my decision. I ended up not taking a day off for LASIK. If anyone is planning LASIK, please do not do that; even if it doesn't hurt, you should rest for at least four days to stabilize.

On about the fifth day after LASIK, the weather was nice, and my vision was decent, so I went for a walk with a friend's dog. It was very cute! Dogs truly save the world.

My father, having seen something on YouTube, excitedly told me that a bone-grilling restaurant had been featured. After hearing my mother's call about it, I immediately went to check it out. I had previously visited a similar place in Daehung-dong, so I wasn't particularly impressed. However, even on a weekday at 5 PM, we managed to get the last table without a wait. The flavors were good, but the taste was much lighter compared to the one in Daehung-dong. And as many have said, despite its intimidating appearance, it wasn't as enjoyable as expected. My father also mentioned it was just a one-time experience.

During the first week after LASIK, I went back to Seoul for a check-up. It was a quick visit, just removing the protective lenses, checking my vision, and ensuring my cornea was healing properly. In the afternoon, with some time left, I went on a keyboard shop tour in Yongsan with a friend. We visited Funkys, Semokki, and Gusan Comnet. Although they all seemed similar, the feel and sound of the keys were slightly different, which was fun. The keyboards I was interested in were all around 190,000 to 140,000 won. It seems that finding a keyboard that meets all my preferences for feel, design, and sound is quite expensive!

Our company released the 2026 calendar and planner, but I know the company is low on funds. I can't believe they just slapped on stickers to add to them!

After walking with my colleague's dog, I visited a friend's house. The dog had an intimidating appearance!

We went to Seoul to catch a fish and had a great time. We enjoyed a delicious meal together, and I found myself enjoying the fish more than I usually do. I must say, I need to have fish again before winter ends.

December was busy with LASIK surgery, wisdom teeth removal, and spending a lot of money. I will be heading to Tokyo next week, so my next post will likely be about that. If you have any recommendations for Tokyo content, I would appreciate it!
