Hello, I'm Dalhae!
Today, I'd like to introduce Rafhouse, a well-known dessert cafe in Yeonnam-dong.
Actually, rather than just a dessert cafe, it's a hidden gem in the relaxed atmosphere of Yeonnam-dong!
Even though it was a Sunday evening, Hongdae was so crowded that after a few rejections, we finally discovered our secret cafe!
From now on, instead of visiting multiple cafes, we've decided to come here from the start!
Rafhouse is located about a 10-minute walk from Exit 3 of Hongik University Station on the 2nd floor of the building.
It's located in an alley near the entrance of Yeonnam-dong, so make sure to find it without getting lost!
Before visiting, I called in advance to check if there were any seats available. Luckily, we avoided the wait!
Apparently, there's usually a bit of a queue.
If there's a wait, the usage time is limited to 2 hours. There are so many cafes in Hongdae, but it's still not enough.
Here's the interior!
The interior is decorated in wood tones, with window seats overlooking Yeonnam-dong, as well as 2-seater and 4-seater tables. There were 5 of us, so they put two tables together. It's not easy to find a cafe for a group in Hongdae.
The atmosphere is warm with soft lighting! More than anything, the cafe is quiet, making it great for working on a laptop, studying, or having a small gathering or date with friends!
*Note: Laptop use is not allowed on weekends and public holidays.
Rafhouse has signature desserts such as Pavlova and Meringue Roulade.
They have desserts that you can't find in other cafes! All desserts are prepared directly by a professional chef. There weren't many dessert options.
Pavlova is a cream cake made with meringue and topped with fresh fruit.
They offer coffee, ade, non-coffee, tea, and even cocktails!
You can place your order at the kiosk in the front.
Pavlova is available as a whole cream cake in 1-tier and 2-tier options.
You can also buy cute candles at the cafe, making it perfect for a small birthday celebration!
That day, we could choose between figs and Shine Muscat grapes, so we chose figs! It seems like they offer seasonal fruits.
We also ordered Iced Americano, which goes well with the desserts, and they had decaf too.

Pavlova (Fig, 1-tier)
Pavlova made directly with meringue.
The whipped cream on top of the Pavlova is even 100% animal-based, so you can enjoy it without feeling greasy!
The meringue cake is crispy on the outside and filled with cream on the inside.
The combination of figs, cream, and meringue is very sweet and delicious. You should eat all three together to fully enjoy the Pavlova!

Napoleon Pastry
Since it's not enough to just eat one dessert, we got another one!

The pastry is layered with cold cream inside, like ice cream.
I liked this one more than the Pavlova!
