Exploring Udo Island: Must-Try Peanut Ice Cream

During my 3-night, 4-day trip to Jeju Island, there’s something you absolutely have to try when you visit Udo Island!
That’s right, it’s the Udo Peanut Ice Cream!
This time, I visited Udo Prince Story while exploring around Udo.
Udo Prince Story is located at 1122 Udohaean-gil, Udo-myeon, Jeju Special Self-Governing Province.
Opening hours: 08:30 AM - 06:00 PM
Closed: None / Open year-round
It’s conveniently located near Geommeolle Beach.
You can easily find it while riding an electric scooter along the coastal road!
Parking is available for scooters, but there doesn’t seem to be a designated parking area.
You need to park carefully enough to allow cars to pass!
Interestingly, you can see signs for peanut ice cream everywhere on Udo!
Among them, this place is well-known as the original and famous spot!
Especially being close to Geommeolle Beach makes it a popular stop after enjoying the beach.
In fact, peanut ice cream is a must-try delicacy in Udo, almost a requirement for visitors!
Finally, I got to taste the Udo Peanut Ice Cream!
From its appearance, topped with peanut powder, it perfectly captures the “I’m in Udo” vibe!
With the first bite, you experience the smooth texture of soft-serve ice cream and the subtle nutty aroma of peanuts.
This combination works exceptionally well!
The peanuts from Udo are said to grow in the sea breeze, which makes them more flavorful.
As a result, the nuttiness is much richer than regular ice cream!
What I also loved was that it’s not overly sweet; the balance between nutty and sweet is just right!
This makes it a flavor you can enjoy without getting tired of it.
The ice cream is also presented in a cute way with various toppings, making it perfect for photos!
It’s known for its diverse styles created with snacks and toppings, offering a variety of visual options!
Located right by Geommeolle Beach, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy your ice cream while looking at the sea!
From the shop or nearby, you can enjoy stunning sea views, coastal cliffs, and the unique vibe of Udo all at once.
This truly gives you the feeling of being on a vacation!
That’s probably why there are so many tourists, including quite a few foreigners!
After trying it myself, I immediately understood why everyone eats this when they visit Udo.
The combination of the unique local flavor of nutty peanut ice cream, the scenic views, and the overall vibe makes it a delightful snack!
All these factors come together to make it a menu item you can’t just pass by!
I totally get why it’s popular, and I’m sure I’ll want to have it again the next time I visit Udo!
