Bamnidan-gil in Ilsan is a delightful neighborhood to explore, with its hidden alleys filled with charming cafes and restaurants. Among them, 'Duoongdoong,' a specialty gelato cafe, has been catching my eye lately. Even the name is adorable, and this small space is packed with sweet and refreshing delights.
Duoongdoong isn't just a gelato shop; it's a cafe where you can relax and enjoy your treat. There are a few small tables, perfect for chatting while holding your cup or cone of gelato. Especially in the evening, when the sunset light of Bamnidan-gil streams in, the cafe atmosphere becomes even warmer.
One of Duoongdoong's biggest draws is its handcrafted gelato menu that changes slightly every day. They use seasonal fruits to bring out the fresh flavors, and the gelato has that perfectly chewy texture.
We tried the Black Rice, Campbell Grape, Guerande Salt, and Earl Grey flavors!
They even gave us a sample of Valrhona Chocolate and Caramel!
The flavors weren't overpowering; you could really taste the natural ingredients, which made me think, 'This is what real gelato tastes like.' The Campbell Grape flavor was especially amazing, with a rich and sweet grape taste – truly like pure Campbell grapes.
If you love fruit, you definitely have to try it!
