Quiet winter daily moments with family and a newborn baby at the end of December

From late December to early January, everyday life flowed gently around family, food, and caring for a newborn.

Small outings, warm meals, and meaningful moments marked the end of 2025 and the hopeful start of 2026.

These days were filled with quiet joy, preparation for a new home, and growing memories with Peach.

December 29, A Long-Awaited Outing

After a long time, I finally went out to meet Inuni.

I had always wanted to visit Tonari Udon, and both the zaru udon and pork katsu were absolutely satisfying.

After lunch, we moved to a café and talked seriously, surrounded by desserts that felt like a small paradise.

Since lunch was treated, I happily took care of dessert and even packed a cheesecake to bring home.

Back home, dinner was made by my mom, and the day ended with Peach sleeping adorably, hands resting on her face.

December 30, Ordinary but Comforting

I had lunch with my mom and cooked bokkeumbap for my brother, who came by for interior work.

It had been a while since I cooked, so I worried I made too much, but he finished everything.

Later, I took Peach to a nearby café for a short coffee break.

It was a quiet weekday afternoon, and Peach eventually fell asleep in the baby carrier.

Dinner that night was simple but comforting tteok ramen.

December 31, Ending the Year Together

Peach woke up early for her morning feeding.

I left her briefly with my mom and went out with my brother and dad for kalguksu.

The cold weather made the warm broth even better, and everyone finished their bowls.

My sister brought dumplings from Namdaemun Market, which were delicious both warm and cold.

We laughed trying a trending baby video with Peach, discovering how adorable it really was.

The day ended with dumplings and some chicken, wrapping up the last night of the year.

January 1, Welcoming 2026

Happy New Year 2026.

2025 felt unforgettable, filled with returning to Korea, getting a house, and welcoming Peach.

We started the year by looking for a bed for Peach and visited a showroom together.

The size of the bed surprised us, and dinner prepared by mom ended the first day of the year warmly.

January 2, Small Joys and Preparations

Peach has started babbling, making her even cuter every day.

I went out briefly with my mom for snacks, reminding me that winter is truly fish cake season.

After checking another bed showroom, I grabbed budae jjigae on the way back.

The day closed with a simple dinner and late-night chicken, which never gets old.

January 4, Moving Closer to a New Home

January 5 marked the day our belongings from the US would finally arrive.

Before that, my mom helped us prepare since baby items had piled up.

We moved everything into our remodeled home, which felt just right.

Afterward, my aunt treated us to a hearty meat dinner.

The ribeye melted in my mouth, and Peach rested quietly in her car seat.

We finished the day at a large café filled with desserts and people.

After a bath at home, Peach fell asleep quickly, ending my first real outing since giving birth.

Next week, we finally move in fully.
