Capturing Memories: A Special Photoshoot Experience

As the 35th week passed
I kept thinking about wanting to take a maternity photo with my mom. Luckily, I had a chance to go to Konkuk University, and while searching for a photography studio, I found a place that specializes in clean and emotional black-and-white photography. So, I went there with my mom!
It's the Todam Studio in Konkuk University.
It's located underground.
As soon as we entered the studio,
I felt that the overall mood was very clean and emotional! With a white tone, there were various photo zones and a lot of props. My mom was excited since she had never done black-and-white photography before!
Here’s the entrance. Let’s go in!
It has a cozy atmosphere, doesn’t it?
There were many props available
like hats, sunglasses, and more.
I wanted to live without worries, but I ended up buying without thinking.
We even took a mirror selfie!
There were many pretty guards too.
We could choose the level of editing.
I picked level two for more edits because I felt that natural editing wouldn’t be enough for me.
Maternity photos are so special!
The dressing room was also available.
This is the photo-taking space.
There were plenty of props inside, too.
When taking photos, the most important thing is what pose to do. However, the photographer directed us very naturally, including poses, expressions, hand positions, and gaze.
We just had to relax and follow their guidance!
We finished the shoot!
It was my mom's first time doing black-and-white photography, and the photographer captured beautiful lines, shots of us smiling at each other, and moments of my mom touching my belly.
The direction was so comfortable.
Thanks to that, we were able to take photos comfortably without feeling awkward! We selected six photos afterward using a tablet.
Here are some tips for the shoot:
✔️ Wear solid colors: Black-and-white photography looks better with clean tones than with flashy patterns.
✔️ Keep accessories simple: It's more important to highlight your face and lines rather than distracting points.
✔️ Trust the photographer with poses: Their experience makes a difference! Just follow their lead, and you'll look great.
✔️ Drink a little water before the shoot: Reducing facial puffiness can change the feel of the photos.
✔️ If shooting with your mom, coordinate in matching tones: A combination of white and black would look good.
I slightly regretted not wearing a dress for my maternity photos.
The next day, I returned to pick up the photos!
✔️ The results were naturally edited, and I was extremely satisfied!
What I loved most was that the editing felt natural and not overly done, preserving my original face and lines. I was worried about facial puffiness due to pregnancy, but they managed to edit it subtly, which I loved.
My mom was also pleased when she saw the photos, saying they turned out beautifully.
Taking maternity photos with my mom was a great decision!
It’s such a wonderful way to create memories.
These days, Konkuk University has many dating spots and activities, so after taking photos, we enjoyed a nearby café and meal.
I highly recommend it as a date course!
The studio definitely felt like a great value for the quality of photos without a heavy price burden.
It seems perfect for friends, couples, or family shoots.
Since it was my first time taking black-and-white maternity photos with my mom, it felt particularly special, and I wondered when I would have another chance like this in my life.
It was truly a wonderful experience!
