The First Cafe Visit of the New Year

Finally, the New Year has begun on January 1st.
It was an extremely cold day, but
after spending Christmas at home,
I decided to go out with my partner.
We thought about visiting the area around
Noksapyeong, Itaewon, and Hannam-dong.
We headed to Hangangjin Station.
As we looked around for a cafe,
Atelier Pond Hannam caught our eye.
In a quiet atmosphere,
we thought we could enjoy delicious warm coffee and tea,
so we quickly visited.
Although we didn't have dessert here,
we enjoyed quite a tasty coffee and tea,
so I'm leaving this review.
Basic Information

Atelier Pond Hannam
Located at 19, Itaewon-ro 54-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
Operating hours: 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM
Reservations and takeout available.
Restrooms are separated by gender.
Location and Interior

On that day, shivering in the cold,
we hurriedly entered the cafe,
so I couldn't take a picture of the exterior.
Instead, here’s a street view.
Anyway, Atelier Pond Hannam is located
after exiting through Exit 3 of Hangangjin Station.
You can walk straight, pass the Hangangjin Church,
and enter the alley to reach it.
Upon entering the store, the entrance looks like this:
It has a luxurious feel from the very entrance.
On the right side of the entrance,
there were some paintings displayed.
Inside, there are three high-counter seats
and a bench that is a bit awkward for sitting.
In front of the entrance is the counter and kitchen space,
with paintings on the walls,
creating a bar-like atmosphere
that feels quite upscale.
In the middle of the store,
there's a display of various Financiers and caramel bars,
perfect for gift wrapping.
Coffee and Tea Experience

Although the price is a bit high for sets,
the visuals look quite delicious.
There aren't many seats available,
with about six two-person tables by the window.
When we arrived,
it was empty, but soon there was a wait.
The menu at Atelier Pond Hannam offers
various coffees and teas.
We ordered a hot filter coffee
and a hot rooibos tea.
They accept Zero Pay,
so we paid using that.
After a short wait,
they brought our orders to our table.
On a cold day, seeing warm coffee and tea
already warms the body.
My partner's rooibos tea was served
in a separate pot for steeping.
Once it was brewed, we enjoyed it.
The warm, rich aroma of the rooibos tea
was perfect for warming up.
Although we were full and didn't order dessert,
it seems the pastries would pair well.
My filter coffee was Kenyan,
sweet yet bold, and I really liked it.
Even though it was my second cup of coffee that day,
I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Wrapping Up the Visit

So, sipping coffee and tea,
I cleared my first cafe visit of the New Year.
It was a wonderful day to enjoy
delicious coffee and warm my body.
If you find yourself in Hannam-dong,
why not enjoy a cup of coffee or tea
at Atelier Pond Hannam?
