A Culinary Journey at Uara Gwanghwamun

Uara Gwanghwamun is a hidden gem near Jonggak Station, offering a unique dining experience with private rooms perfect for gatherings, family meetings, and celebrations.
As we welcomed the New Year of 2026, my husband and I decided to start it off with a memorable visit to Uara Gwanghwamun.
After making a reservation through Catch Table, we were excited to explore the menu.
With 21 private rooms accommodating up to 20 guests, it’s an ideal spot for indoor dates, family gatherings, business meetings, and anniversaries.
We opted for the Dinner Course B, with my husband increasing his beef portion to 120g.
Each course featured fresh, high-quality ingredients, raising our expectations for a delightful meal.
As a special anniversary service, we toasted with a complimentary grape juice.
The Dinner Course B commenced with:
1. Chawanmushi - A delightful steamed egg custard with scallops and asparagus that whetted our appetite.
2. Elegant Bites - My favorite dish from the course, featuring beef tartare pastry, tuna sushi rolls, and truffle tenderloin fritters.
3. Yellowtail - Served with eggplant, perilla leaves, and a citrus sauce, the yellowtail was refreshing and flavorful.
4. Corn Soup - A warm soup made from sweet corn, spinach, herring roe, and mushrooms, it was simply delicious.
5. Abalone - The abalone was braised with kelp and steamed zucchini, enhanced by basil and truffle oil.
6. Tilefish - The combination of tilefish, roe, and rice provided a burst of flavor in every bite.
7. Sesame Oil Octopus Beef Noodles - Tender octopus with sea urchin and beef served with a citrus soy sauce for a heavenly taste.
8. Personal Grill Beef - Grilling tender beef with vegetables at our own table was a unique experience. My husband loved the generous portion!
9. Side Dishes - Accompanied by Korean seaweed soup and three side dishes, the meal included shiny Icheon rice. Refills for the kimchi, fernbrake, and squid jeotgal were available.
10. Dessert - Special requests for anniversaries included personalized dessert lettering, a Polaroid photo, and a glass of champagne each.
As the New Year dawned, we left Uara Gwanghwamun feeling rejuvenated and hopeful for the year ahead. Wishing everyone a prosperous New Year!
